1. Introduction

Renovate Community Repair C.I.C. (“RCR”, “we”, “us”) is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company registered in England and Wales (Company Number 15729236). Our mission is to empower communities in the Liverpool City Region by:

  • Providing home repair and maintenance support to vulnerable individuals and families;
  • Promoting sustainability through reuse, recycling, and repurposing materials;
  • Investing profits back into local community initiatives that foster pride, safety, and resilience.

By making a donation to RCR, you (“donor”) agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Acceptance of Donations

  • We reserve the sole discretion to accept or refuse any donation, gift, or grant.
  • Donations must align with our mission and assist community benefit. Gifts may be refused if they cannot reasonably support these aims.
  • No irrevocable donation—whether outright or life-income—is accepted if it could reasonably jeopardise the donor’s financial wellbeing.

3. Donation Channels

Accepted donation methods include:

  • Online via our website payment gateway.
  • Bank transfer (use reference “DONATERCR” to ensure proper allocation).
  • Third-party platforms (e.g. GoFundMe).
  • In person, including cash or physical items (e.g. building materials or tools). RCR may decline in-kind donations unsuitable for community use.

4. Use of Donated Funds

  • Donations are unrestricted unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing by RCR.
  • We retain full discretion over how funds or in-kind donations are used to advance our mission, prioritising projects aligned with sustainability, community empowerment, and support for vulnerable residents of the Liverpool City Region.

5. Types of Acceptable Gifts

  • Cash and publicly traded securities are accepted without limitation.
  • In-kind donations (materials, tools, services) may be accepted if they support our activities—at RCR’s discretion.
  • Gifts such as real property, personal property, non‑liquid securities, or donations from unclear or restricted sources require prior review. Such contributions may be refused if they pose liabilities or don’t align with our mission.

6. Tax, Legal & Financial Advice

  • RCR is not registered for Gift Aid. Donations are not eligible for UK tax relief.
  • We do not provide financial, legal, or tax advice. Donors should seek independent professional advice regarding personal tax implications.

7. Acknowledgment of Donations

  • Donors giving cash or via online methods receive automated acknowledgments (email or SMS).
  • Other donations (e.g. in person or bank transfer) may receive manual acknowledgments upon request.
  • Except for cash and publicly traded securities, RCR does not attribute monetary value to in‑kind gifts in acknowledgment documents.

8. Donor Intent, Confidentiality & Anonymity

  • All gifts are considered unrestricted and donors cannot enforce usage conditions.
  • Donors may choose to remain anonymous; otherwise, RCR may publicly acknowledge donations.
  • Personal data provided by donors is used to issue acknowledgments or contact them. Data may be shared only if required by law or with explicit consent.
  • Access to donor identity is limited internally to staff with a legitimate need.

9. Refunds and Exceptional Circumstances

  • Donations are final and non-refundable, except in exceptional cases such as administrative errors or fraud, at RCR’s discretion.
  • Refund requests must be submitted in writing within 14 days to donations@renovatecommunityrepair.co.uk or via our contact page.

10. Liability

  • Donations are made at the donor’s risk. RCR is not responsible for loss, theft, or misdirection.
  • RCR’s liability relating to any donation or associated matters is limited to the amount of the donation itself.

11. No Third-Party Payments

  • RCR does not pay commissions, finder’s fees, or any remuneration to third parties for referring donors or arranging contributions.

12. Amendments

  • These Terms may be updated by posting revisions on our website.
  • The version applying at the time of donation is the binding one.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  • These Terms are governed by England and Wales law.
  • Any dispute relating to these Terms will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
