1. Introduction

Renovate Community Repair C.I.C (“RCR,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides home maintenance and repair services to homeowners and tenants within the  Liverpool City Region. These General Terms & Conditions govern all services provided by RCR, unless superseded by specific terms documents  (e.g., Community  Home Care Membership Terms). By engaging our services, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions.


2. Definitions

  • “Services”: Repairs, inspections, or maintenance tasks performed by RCR.
  • “Emergency Repairs”: Urgent work to address immediate health/safety risks (e.g., gas leaks).
  • “Routine Maintenance”: Scheduled checks to prevent system failures.
  • “Quote”: A written estimate of service costs.

3. Services Offered

3.1 Inclusions

RCR provides:

  • Electrical Services: Rewiring, fuse box upgrades, lighting repairs etc
  • Plumbing Solutions: Leak fixes, tap replacements, pipework upgrades etc
  • Heating Services: Boiler servicing, radiator bleeding etc
  • Bathroom Renovations: Full or part renovations
  • Kitchen Renovations: Full or part renovations
  • Home Extensions: Full or part projects
  • Joinery & Carpentry: Hanging Doors, Fitting cupboards etc
  • Handyman Services: Minor repairs & improvements etc
  • Windows & Doors: installation/ repair of windows & doors etc
  • Tiling Solutions: tiling installation & repairs
  • Outdoor Spaces: Patios, Pathways, Driveways etc
  • Gardening Support: Basic gardening maintenance
  • Fencing & Decking: timber or composite decking & fencing etc
  • Roofing Services: Roofing repairs, guttering etc
  • Painting & Decorating: Painting & decorating
  • Interior Design: Help planning and designing your homes layout
  • Insulation & Energy efficiency: Upgrading insulation & energy efficient materials and accessories
  • Property Maintenance: Community Home Care membership, Bespoke commercial maintenance agreements

3.2 Exclusions

Services do not include:

  • Pest control or asbestos removal.
  • Repairs to non-standard installations.

4. Pricing & Payments

4.1 Quotes

  • Normally Valid for 14 Days unless otherwise specified
  • Exclusions/ Changes: Quotes exclude unforeseen works including works required under floors, inside walls & ceiling spaces. Quotes are subject to change if hidden hazards (e.g., asbestos) are discovered. This list is not exhaustive.
  • Additional Costs: Parts/materials & additional labour costs not included in any initial quotes will be billed separately.

4.2 Payment Terms

  • Full payment terms are listed here: Payment Terms – Renovate Community Repair C.I.C
  • Fees: 8% annual interest + £40 admin fee under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998.
  • Debt Recovery: Unpaid balances >£150 may result in County Court Judgments (CCJs).

5. Cancellation & Refunds

5.1 Cancellation by Client

  • ≥24 Hours’ Notice: No fee.
  • <24 Hours’ Notice: 50% of quoted service cost.

5.2 Cancellation by RCR

We may cancel due to:

  • Unsafe working conditions (e.g., gas leaks, aggressive pets).
  • Failure to provide access after 3+ missed appointments.

5.3 Refunds

  • Processed: Within 14 days to the original payment method.
  • Conditions: Refunds only for services not rendered due to RCR’s cancellation.

6. Warranties & Guarantees

6.1 Labour Guarantee

  • 12 Months: Covers defects in workmanship (excludes drainage and wear/tear).

6.2 Parts Warranty

  • Manufacturer’s Warranty: Parts replaced by RCR are covered under the manufacturer’s terms.

6.3 Exclusions

Warranties/ Guarantees void if:

  • Repairs are modified by third parties.
  • Damage results from misuse (e.g., ignoring maintenance advice).

7. Liability

7.1 Limitation of Liability

  • Cap: Liability limited to 150% of fees paid in the preceding 12 months.
  • Exclusions:
    • Indirect losses (e.g., business interruption).
    • Damage from natural disasters, vandalism, or customers negligence.

8. Complaints & Disputes

8.1 Complaint Process

1.Step 1: Report via email to complaints@renovatecommunityrepair.co.uk within 14 days.

2.Step 2: Investigation and written response within 14 days.


9. Force Majeure

  • Examples: Pandemics, extreme weather, strikes.
  • Remedies: Reschedule services or issue pro-rata refunds.

10. Amendments

RCR reserves the right to update the version of these Terms. Changes take effect 30 days after posting on the website. Continued use of services constitutes acceptance.


11. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by English law.
  • Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
