1. Introduction
Renovate Community Repair C.I.C (“RCR,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides these Working Terms & Conditions to ensure safe, efficient, and professional service delivery. These Terms govern the conduct of RCR tradespeople, client responsibilities, and procedures for on-site work. By engaging our services, you agree to comply with these Terms.
2. Definitions
- “Tradesperson”: RCR-employed or subcontractor technicians performing services.
- “Work Zone”: Designated area where services are performed.
- “Hazardous Materials”: Asbestos, lead paint, or unstable structures.
- “PPE”: Personal Protective Equipment (e.g., gloves, masks, safety goggles).
3. Tradesperson Obligations
3.1 Professional Conduct
- Experience & Training: Tradespeople will have valid training and expertise in their field (e.g., 18th edition Electricians).
- PPE: Tradespeople must wear RCR-provided PPE (e.g., steel-toe boots, hi-vis jackets, safety glasses) when required to do so.
- Behaviour: Tradespeople will act in a Courteous, trustworthy and professional manner; no smoking, alcohol, or drug use on-site.
3.2 Compliance with Laws
- Adherence to Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and PPE Regulations 2022.
- Immediate reporting of hazards to the RCR Supervisor and Health & Safety Officer when required.
4. Client Responsibilities
4.1 Pre-Service Requirements
- Access: Provide unobstructed access to the Work Zone. (We understand this is not always the case and arrangements can be made to support with this if required)
- Disclosures: Inform RCR of Hazardous Materials, pest infestations, or structural risks.
- Safety: Secure pets, children, and valuable items away from the Work Zone in to protect from accidents/ accidental damage.

4.2 During Service
- Cooperation: Follow safety instructions (e.g., power isolation, evacuation protocols).
- Supervision: Ensure someone aged 18+ is present during work (excludes key-safe/ key holding access agreements).
4.3 Failure to Comply
- Cancellation: RCR may cancel services after 3+ missed appointments. A £50 fee applies.
5. Property Damage
5.1 Coverage
- Repairs: RCR covers accidental damage up to £1,000 per incident (includes making good).
- Exclusions:
- Pre-existing damage (e.g., cracked tiles, rotten wood) including that which may worsen due to works on other areas.
- Damage caused by client negligence (e.g., refusing to vacate the Work Zone, Not removing valuables from the Work Zone).
5.2 Reporting
- Notify RCR within 24 hours via email.
- Provide photographic evidence for claims.
6. Delays & Rescheduling
6.1 RCR-Caused Delays
- Examples: Equipment failure, supply chain shortages/ lead times.
- Remedy: Reschedule at no cost or issue a pro-rata refund.
6.2 Client-Caused Delays
- Examples: Denied access, unsafe conditions.
- Fees: £50 rescheduling fee after 3+ missed appointments.
7. Force Majeure
- Examples: Extreme weather, pandemics, strikes, staff shortage due to emergency situations.
- Process: Services paused until safe resumption. No penalties apply.
8. Emergency Protocols
8.1 Gas Leaks
1.Evacuate the property immediately.
2.Notify RCR: 07707812997 OR 07707812999.
3.Call National Grid: 0800 111 999.
8.2 Electrical Fires
1.Isolate power at the mains.
2.Use CO₂ extinguishers, Evacuate the property if uncontrollable.
3.Call 999 if uncontainable.
9. Liability
- Cap: Liability limited to 150% of service fees paid (excludes third-party damage).
- Exclusions:
- Losses from client non-compliance (e.g., ignored safety advice).
- Damage covered by household insurance (e.g., flooding).

10. Governing Law & Disputes
- These Terms are governed by English law.
- Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
